Steadfast Tin Ashley pt 5

Part of a telling of Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier' with Queen of Spades, a theater spirit and 's OC as the story's narrator.

Note: This is the part where it get rather sad. So those who get emotional easily as Queen of Spades said PLEASE prepare your tissues. (Beginning if you've missed it here:[link] )
Now on with the story:

Queen of Spades (narrating): To the horror of the other toys, Miss Melanie Dirge, our little plastic ballerina braved the flames and skipped through the ashes of the fireplace in order to find her love Ashley and when she finally found him- oh what a state he was in! Already most of his colour was gone and his tin foot had melted away into the ashes!

MD: Ashley are you- Oh Ashley, what have the fires done to you *tears up and hugs him*
A: Melanie Dirge! I'm SO happy to see you again- but.... I was going to ask you that very same question *tears in his eyes*
MD: I had to brave through the flames just as you have braved through the outside world to find me!
A: Oh Melanie, thank you so much ...but are you sure we can make it out of the fire together?

Queen of Spades narrating: The little ballerina felt determined to get Ashley out of the fireplace, but ultimately, since she was made of a very delicate plastic, felt like her feet were starting to melt away very quickly as the fires consumed her.

*Cue the song 'Ich Fuhl Wie Du' (c) Peter Maffay played in slow motion and with violins*

MD: I thought we would but......I'm afraid that I cannot carry on *tears in her eyes*
A: awwww *hugs her* but my love, at least we are together again, right? like they say, true love is forever?
MD: indeed, forever....and ever.......

Queen of Spades (narrating): and so the 2 love-birds begun to melt away among the ashes in the flames of the fireplace- together forever as the little ballerina put it. Although MD didn't notice, the rest of the toys outside could softly here their little conversation as they were sadly consumed by the fires.
Soon, almost as if the people outside knew what was going on among the toys, the clocktower chimed- and it sounded like a funeral bell.
Jet the mermaid doll, MD's good friend started to weep. Slither, the toy snake tried to comfort her, but ultimately, felt like breaking down into tears himself. Very soon EVERY toy hung his or her head in sadness- and cried rivers of tears. Even the usually spiteful Thatch-in-the-box couldn't help but feel bad for the little vampire tin Soldier and the ballerina- and even felt sorry for all the times he had annoyed her and teased her boyfriend. Now he felt like he wanted to apologise...but it was too late.....

It was a VERY sad night....
*curtains closes- BLACK curtains to fit the mood*

Queen of Spades (still narrating): Some nights later after the tragic incident, Klot, the youngest of the tin soldiers wandered into the hallway outside the toyroom for the sake of curiosity- near the fireplace. The fires had died down that night, so he approached it with no fear. All of a Sudden, he thought he heard a small coughing sound coming from the ashes.

Klot: Huh? Ashley?

Queen of Spades (narrating): the little vampire tin soldier then rushed forward to the ashes and dug through them like a little dog digging for a bone and all of a sudden he found..........
