Just a random drawing of a Chiang Shih or Jiang Shi (Chinese Vampire) looking ready to attack.
These traditional Asian vampires have appeared in several Chinese Cinema- one of them being the 'Mr Vampire' movies (c) Ricky Lau and Paragon films.
Chiang Shi are as zombie-esque vampires that move via hopping and feed on the victim's chi or life energy rather than blood (which is still pretty scary). They are also known to strangle their prey. These creatures of the night are also nocturnal and are said to be born when a corpse has absorbed negative energy. When bitten or injured by them, you become one.
Unlike their European cape-wearing, counterparts, Jiang Shi actually HAVE reflections (though are said to be frightened of them). They are also known to fear items made from peach tree wood and can have their powers nullified via prayer slips.
Glutinous Rice and Azuki beans are to Chiang-shi as Garlic is to European vampires- they are stuff you put on your doors and things to repel them. Also, hitting them with a broom or axe is known to kill them.
